From my previous post a few days ago, I mentioned this has been quite a nightmare for me. Thankfully, I have restored a few accounts. I have just regained access back to my PayPal account and refunds have been sent or in the process of being sent. I have uploaded the documents to Gmail and they are processing my password request change. It's looking very good on that end. Skype, I think that may be a goner, but I'm actively working with Skype to get my account restored. Apparently, My freelancer.com woes are not over. If you remember my blog post about freelancer.com and the suspension, (click the link here) After constant harassment on social media platforms, they finally looked into the issue. Long and behold, that freelancer's account was suddenly closed and I was refunded in full. Looks like after looking into the issue I wasn't lying at all about this freelancer logging into my freelancer account, releasing payment, then giving himself excellent feedback on my behalf. I'm going through a terrible situation with Freelancer.com. These people do not care about their customers who come there to spend their hard earned money. They just want to charge your card and could care less about anything else. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I had reported some issues with a Freelancer who had logged into my account, released payment, and then left 5 star feedback. I received a notification email from freelancer that I logged in from a different location and contacted them about it. So much has happened over the last week. First, my precious laptop died. My motherboard died out and they want to charge me more than it's worth to repair. So, I told the Geek Squad at Best Buy to pull the hard drive and make it external. Still waiting for them to get back to me. Files are confirmed to be there, thank God, but Geek Squad is so backed up I have to wait days just to get a backup lol. My ebooks and stories are all on that hard drive so I'm stuck waiting. It's official. I've made the decision to leave the Upwork platform, it's just not for me. I did merge over from Elance, and landed a few jobs, but I just cannot handle starting from scratch. There's one thing Upwork has more than Elance and any other platform: Low balling job offers. Unfortunately, I cannot work 5-6 hour jobs for $5.00. Not only that, once escrow is released, I have to wait an additional 6 days to get my money. I'm sure as time goes, Upwork will become a better platform and then I may just consider returning.
